Coming Soon for busy people.
This video (2mins) tells of the near completion of my audiobook, The Thinking Horse Breeder, by the lovely people at Audiobooksradio in Melbourne.
Reflective moment: What are you really breeding for?
A pretty trot? A popular stallion? A horse that thrives in real-world management? Take 60 seconds today to write your answer down. You might surprise yourself. Start thinking about how you will choose the stallion. If you are unsure, consider carefully whether to breed at all this season.
With foaling season just around the corner, (commencing Aug 1st here in Australia) now might just be the time to buy a paperback copy.
Mini rant of the week: Stop being afraid of salt
We still get messages asking if salt is “really necessary.” Yes. It is. It’s not optional, ornamental, or just for sweaty summers. Horses cannot retain water without sodium. That means stress. That means risk. That means weak recovery, poor digestion, and moody behaviour that gets misdiagnosed as “mare problems.”
Did you know?
Wild horses will walk ten to twenty kilometers to find salt and minerals. Your mare will walk from the paddock to the gate, stare into your soul, and still get none if you’re not paying attention. Think she’s just being difficult? Think again. Salt deficiency isn’t a mood. It’s a metabolic trainwreck waiting to happen.
I’ve recently posted my latest digital courses, which were free to members, but you can also get them here for a small fee.
Here is the Amazon link to order my e-book. If you are a dog lover and you like my previous works, you’ll love this one too!
Coming up: Two articles on Breeding with Intention. Watch for them in your inboxes soon.
